1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cube margarine
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts
Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
8 oz Cool Whip
1 can pie filling, any flavor
Cream brown sugar and margarine well, then mix in the flour. Spread out in large baking sheet, brown in oven at 350 F for 10-15 minutes. Stir in the nuts partway into the cooking time because they burn easily. Cool and re-crumble and pat half of it in the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Save some for the top of the filling. To make filing, cream sugar and cream cheese well and fold in the cool whip, blend well. Spread the cream mixture on top of the crumbs and spread with prepared pie filling- can use any kind of berry, apple, mincemeat. Sprinkle with the remaining crumb mixture. Cool. Can serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
