Grandma Delange's Raisin Filled Cookies

2 eggs, beaten
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
3 cups flour
1 cup shortening
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt

Cream sugar and shortening and add eggs and beat. Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture alternately with the milk.
Raisin filling for cookies;
3 cups raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
Chop raisins, if desired, then cook all ingredients until thickened. Put a tsp or more on each rolled cookie, then add a cookie to the top and press sides together,. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown
