Applesauce-Oatmeal Cookies

4 cups applesauce
2 cups shortening
4 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp cloves
4 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp allspice
7 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
4 cups oatmeal
2 cups nuts
2 cups chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat. Add soda to applesauce and then add to creamed mixture. Combine dry ingredients with flour and add to mixture. Then add oatmeal, nuts, and chips.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes
