Debbie Johnson's Thanksgiving Rolls

(2 hours from start to bake)

2 cups milk (scolded-hothot) microwave 2 min
4 TBSP shortening
4 TBSP sugar
2 pkgs yeast (rapid rise)
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
6 cups flour
Add sugar, salt, and shortening to scolded milk. let cool til just warm. in a separate container add 2 pkgs yeast into 1/2 cup warm water. In another container beat the 2 eggs. In a big bowl mix eggs, yeast, and shortening together. Add 1/2 the flour called for and then continue adding as needed. Knead good so all mixed.

to rise: let dough "rest" for 10 minutes. roll out 1/2 thick. Cut out rolls and dip one side in melted butter (center only or they won't stick) then pinch together on cookie sheets. Let rise half hour to 45 minutes to size of eating. Can brush lightly with melted butter but be really careful so they don't fall. Bake 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until golden brown
